Awesome Housewarming Gift Ideas For Those Who Have “Everything” Already
It may be because of the business we’re in, but we get invited to A LOT of housewarming parties, and we never like to show up empty-handed. So, whether the new homeowners are first-time home builders or this is their 6th house they’ve built, here are some of our favorite gift ideas to help them celebrate their new home in a unique and thoughtful way.
Funny Kitchen Towels
Kitchens get messy. Milk and juice gets spilled. But, what could make it better than wiping it up with a towel that reads: “Let that shiitake go.” We’re cracking up just thinking about it.
A Welcoming (& Personality-Driven) Doormat
Whether your loved ones always welcome visitors or are more along the lines of “stay away from our house,” there are doormats available for them. Our favorites that we found on Amazon read: “The Neighbors Have Better Stuff” and “Shut The Front Door.”
A Personalized Holiday Ornament For Their New Home
You could go all out and get their names on it, too, but plenty of ornament stores and websites offer ornaments that will commemorate their new home and the year.
Custom Kitchen Accessories
Personalized cutting boards for their appetizers or everyday use is a great thought!
A Household Game
If they don’t have children around or need a whole-family game, Cards Against Humanity can be a fun one. If they do have children, stick with something like Candy Land or Moustache Smash. If you really want to up your game, throw in a gift basket with “game night snacks.”
A Slow Cooker Or Rice Cooker
Depending on what types of meals your friends enjoy, a slow cooker or a rice cooker lets them throw everything in and forget about it while it cooks.
A Good Tool Kit
Especially if this is their first home, chances are, they may not have a toolkit with everything they need. If you’re wondering what new homeowners need, check out our blog post, What All New Homeowners Need In Their Toolkit.
An Indoor Herb Garden
If your friends are foodies and love to cook in their new kitchen, get them a Mason Jar Indoor Herb Garden. It looks amazing in the kitchen and is a very useful and inexpensive way for them to have fresh herbs year-round.
While these are helpful for families without kids or older couples, they’re especially helpful for families with kids. It’s difficult to learn your way around a new house, especially in the dark. And night lights aren’t just the yellow lights that plug into outlets, like the ones we grew up with. Now, you can get some really cool and unique designs that showcase the household’s personality!
A Good Luck Bamboo Plant
This plant’s lore brings good luck to the new home that it occupies. The green also helps to bring calm and serenity to the new space. Plus, bamboo is very hearty, so even the plant-killers in the lot will have a tough time getting rid of this one!
Industrial Extension Cords
You never think you’re going to need these, but they come in HANDY for outdoor - and even some indoor - projects!
