“We first learned about Homestead at a home show.  We’d been wanting to build our own home, and after talking to the sales consultant, we couldn’t wait to get started.  Homestead had everything we were looking for and it worked just how we’d pictured it,” says Ronald.  “We couldn’t afford to put 20% down on a new home like the banks required.  With Homestead, our down payment was only $200.”

“I was unsure at first about the pre-built walls.  When they came off the truck as 2 x 6 outer walls and 2 x 4 inner walls, I saw that it was at least the same quality material that you could get at a lumber yard.  The quality was no different than a traditional stick frame wall, but you save a lot of time because the builder doesn’t have to construct the walls.  The pre-built walls made framing our home as easy at 1-2-3.  All he had to do was match the numbered walls to the corresponding number on our blueprints, then stand them up,” Ronald explains.

“We did very little of the work ourselves and still earned $48,000 in equity,” says Debbie.  “We couldn’t be happier with our dealings with Homestead.  They were very friendly and helpful, and always answered our questions.”  Ronald adds, “I had more stress at my job than I did building our new home!”

“I love my home and the fact that we did it.  We got to pick out everything for our new home –cabinets, carpet, shingles, siding – you name it.  We couldn’t wait to move in!” exclaims Debbie.
