“We wanted a new home and we wanted to pick and choose the style and floor plan of our home.  Also, Tony is a carpenter and we wanted to use his skills to build our new home,” says Leisa.  “At first I didn’t think Homestead was for real. It seemed too good to be true.  But I checked into it, went to a seminar, then came back and told Leisa that I think it might be real,” says Tony.  “We pursued it and everything they said was the truth and now we’re sitting in our new home.”

“If you can balance a checkbook and are halfway organized, even if you don’t do the work yourself, you can still come out with $20,000-$30,000 equity doing this.  All by being your own general contractor.  Just take their guidelines, stair step your contractors one right after another, and the next thing you know six months of your life has passed and you are in your new home.”

“Our down payment was only $200 and we now have about $40,000 in equity.  We could easily sell our home for $100,000 more than it took to build,” says Tony. “Everyone at Homestead was friendly and courteous.  They answered our questions, were very knowledgeable, and had good suggestions.  They know what kind of stress you’re under and they try to help you out.”

Connor says, “I like having my own room and lots of space in the house.  I got to help dad with the sheetrock.” Luke also comments about how much he likes having his own room.  Says Tony, “I told the boys that their bedrooms were built just for them and that makes it special for them.  Both boys were eager to help with the new house.  Luke was the taskmaster, always asking what needed to be done next.  We all had a great time and enjoyed building our new home.  We have lots of stories and memories to share.  If we ever build another home, it would definitely be with Homestead.”

“I love everything about our new home,” says Leisa.  “It’s wonderful, very spacious, and the vaulted ceilings make it feel even bigger than it is.  We have about 4,000 square feet with the basement.  I’m proud of Tony for doing so much of the work himself.  It’s a beautiful home he built for us,” says Leisa.  Tony adds, “It’s nice to be able to do this for your family.  I was in charge of what was going on – I really felt like I accomplished something!”
